Ok. Well, my name’s Melinda, I’m 18 and I live in Michigan. I haven’t been diagnosed with anything, in fact no one really knows about my problems. I’ve accidentally let it slip to a few friends, and I hate myself for it. But they only really know that I used to cut. Sometimes I think I have it all figured out what’s wrong with me, but in the end I have no idea. I’ve been self-injuring on and off for about 6 years. In Jr. High I used to scratch at myself with my nails until my arm was raw and hit myself. I’d also fantasize about cutting myself with scissors and poking myself with pins. I started actually cutting with a utility knife in 9th grade [1999] and that lasted for about 6 months then for some reason stopped. Then February last year it started up again and has been pretty constant since then.
